Will studies the social effects of government policies, how small groups of people adapt to sudden changes in their lives, causal inference, and low-dimensional representation of social interaction and language. His research has been published in the American Journal of Political Science, the American Political Science Review, the Journal of Politics, and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, among other outlets. He received his Ph.D. in 2016 from UC San Diego, and was a visiting researcher at the Yale Institute for Network Science and a collaborator with the Facebook Data Science Team during his studies. Starting Fall 2018, he will be an Assistant Professor in Human Development and Government at Cornell University.
